Istanbul is such an amazing place. I love the food, the people (when they aren’t trying to sell me a carpet), the music, the hamams and the architecture. We could have spent days at the Topkapi Museum; it’s like a city in within the city. An intriguing item on display is a hair from the beard of the prophet Muhammed which, along with a tooth of the Buddha seen in Sri Lanka, we tucked away in our memories (can we collect all the body parts of the great men?). However, visually more spectacular and possibly more memorable is the fantastic Blue Mosque with her iridescent domes.
