Burmese Bus

Burmese Bus

After a tough morning at the market in Bagan, Burma, looking at local food, herbs, fabrics, fruit, fish, washing powder and teapots we needed a break. Time for people watching while we had a coffee (powdered pre-sweetened nescafe with hot milk, surprisingly nice). The bus stop was outside and we watched as more and more and more people got into the mini bus, stowing brightly coloured woven plastic shopping bags on the top. After about 45 minutes of people getting on and off and rearranging shopping and seating, the bus suddenly took off at great speed sending clouds of dust into my coffee.
